Program Content
-prenatal supplement delivery: (food and vitamins( as prescribed by Dr.))
-review and discussion of current nutrition recomendations for pregnancy,
breastfeeding and infants
-food preparation skills development ( including budgeting, meal planning
and label reading)
-community kitchen
-social support
-referral to other agencies as needed
-education and support on lifestyle issues such as tobacco, alcohol,
substance abuse, family vilence, exercise and stress
-promotion and support of breastfeeding
-participation of pregnant and new mothers in the planning and
implementation of the program
-weight checks (moms to be and babies)
-education on growth and development of the fetus and it's relationship to
nutrition
-education on FAS/FAE
-Moms and Tots group
-Postpartum home support
-Proposed Community Garden
-Facilitator consults Registered Dietician as needed
